Heleen Rodiers

Heleen Rodiers (b. 1976, BE) lives and works in Brussels. Her oeuvre concentrates on memory, place and time. Intrigued by Cartier-Bressons ‘le moment décisif ’ but, on the contrary, not wanting to aim for the perfect moment, Rodiers searched for visual strategies to incorporate time and movement in her work. By rephotographing pictures of landscapes through the use of slide projectors, her work obtains a cinematic feel and narrative. in colour as well as in black and white, Rodiers often photographs her family but has also the ability to distil the atmosphere of landscapes and interiors. Her work takes shape as a soon to be self-published artist book ‘Forget and Remember’ (2019). Rodiers currently works as an art director and photographer at BRUZZ.
